This Thursday, October 6th, at 7:00 p.m. ET, ESPN2 will be airing an original movie produced by and for the television sports cable network about Roger Bannister’s quest to be the first human to run a mile under four minutes. The movie is fittingly titled Four Minutes.
Be sure to check out the official website for Four Minutes at www.fourminutesmovie.com where you can watch its trailer and sign-up for an email reminder to tune-in on Thursday after the MLB Division Series. I will not be able to watch its premiere since I will be at work that evening, but the DVD of Four Minutes is promised to be “coming soon.”
Further, I have also taken this opportunity to read Neal Bascomb’s incredible and inspiring retelling of the race among Roger Bannister, John Landy and Wes Santee to break the ultimate physical and psychological barrier in all of sports:
The Perfect Mile: Three Athletes, One Goal, and Less Than Four Minutes to Achieve It.
Until next time…
Run With It!
